Why are we here? What's our purpose?

In this I will try to explain a position that, well, you would say I discovered, but I would say came to me. It stems from back in my high school days where a brilliant teach of mine, Mr. Klein, proposed the question - Is math invented or discovered?

Of course this question interested me to find out if math was really invented or discovered. The answer, however, has evaded me until now. I was looking for the answer, but having not even thought about this question for 2 years, the answer came to me.

Math, like everything, is neither invented nor discovered. It already exists in the Universe. It is and will always be there, whether or not we are. Now you must be thinking well if it's there then doesn't that mean we discover it? Not exactly. Think about how insignificant, we, human beings are in the Universe. The Universe is infinite, and timeless. We are the merest, smallest part of a greater whole. We are only human beings, and the thought that we would be able to uncover truths about the Universe or even make these truths up can seem a bit absurd!

Now you're thinking "But if you are trying to explain our purpose, wouldn't that contradict what you just said? You can't discover something as universal as this!" Well look back to the beginning. I explain that the idea came to me. I wasn't searching for an answer. The answer was there and the time was right for it to become apparent. Think of it this way. How do you describe an idea?

It just popped into your head.

It came to me.

That's right. The idea finds you, you do not find it. If you are still not convinced, then think about Isaac Newton and how "he discovered" gravity. The apple fell onto his head. The idea came to him and presented itself to him in a way that he would be able to describe that notion. It was served to him so that he could taste it and describe to the rest of the world.

This is what I want to do for us all. This notion presented itself to me, and I felt some urge inside to describe it. Believe it or not, it is a plain observation on the way the real world works.

We are here to be discovered. We exist for the sole purpose of having the universal facts, such as gravity, come to us and present themselves. Everything you do can be equated to being discovered. You buy nice clothes, drive flashy cars, work out all in hopes that someone will take notice of you and want to know why you tick. What makes you a person? Why am I me and you you?

Think about our life expectancies. Man is and has always been interested in lengthening out life expectancy. The notion of eternal life is present in most world religions. People have even gone on quests to seek immortality. Why would we want to lengthen our life? So that we increase the chances of being discovered. The longer you live the longer there is for ideas to find you. You want to someday accomplish something great. Longer life gives you a greater opportunity for these ideas to come to you and give you greatness.

Now, you must also understand that people do discover things. We discover other human beings. That is why you want to be attractive. To be discovered. That is why, when you meet someone new and you are attracted to them, you want to find out all about them. What they do to pass time. What they think and feel. And reproduction, usually equated to the survival of your genes, is connected to the idea that one day, having passed on your genes, you will increase your chances of being discovered. Increase your chances of greatness.

Now being discovered, and finding a loved one, a soul mate, would be and is very helpful and fulfilling. But the greatest thing you can do is discover yourself.
